Andy Murray – 2012 US Open Champion

British tennis history has finally been made. Andy Murray is the 2012 US Open Champion. The shadow of 1936 is no more!

Andy Murray has been so hungry for his first Grand Slam title. Being beaten in finals, getting to semis and quarters Coming short every time. After a long almost 5 hours of match play against the fantastic Novak Djokovic, Murray achieved his boy hood dream. 6-7, 5-7,6-2,6-3,2-6

It has truly been a remarkable summer for Andy Murray, representing GBR at the olympics. With all the pressure of one nation he was able to win Gold beating Roger Federer in the final. Andy has always said, it’s the US Open he wants. Murray likes the hard surface and has always said this is where he plays his best tennis.

Looking forward to next year, I think Andy Murray has a great chance at the Australian Open title, another hard surface. The french is a whole new game – then we have to get behind him for next summer at Wimbledon.

Andy Murray will surely be number one competitor for, BBC Sports personality of the year.

British sport has been taken to another level this year and summer – it make me very proud!

Andy Murray is a proud Scotsman, but an even prouder Brit – I salute you!

ESPN Fantasy Football Champion 2011/12…

I am very happy and very proud to report that I (Fishnchips) have been Crowned 2011/12 Espn Fantasy Football Champion.

It has been a long season, 17 weeks later with a record of (12-1) regular season, I have been crowned. Last year was my very first year playing fantasy football. I’ll admit being British I knew nothing about the sport or how to play Fantasy. I am so used to play Fantasy footy back home (soccer). You dont have to go through a draft. There is no strategic play. You have a lump some and you have to create you best team with the budget given.

Weeks went went by and I started to get into the game. Started to watch alot on TV. I knew what players to root for and who I would be going against. I won… 9 other americans in the league and I won. Rubbing salt in the wound is putting it lightly.

This year, I was fired and ready to defend my title. – knew who to pick up in the draft. With a (12-1) record, almost unbeaten in the regualr season. I was up against the number 1 contender. We knew it would be a close battle. He being the only person to beat me before. I edged it in the Championship game. Picture below is the final scoring and all my studs from the year.

2 years running… 3rd time lucky?

Thank you to all my followers who have shown me great support over the weeks past….shame its all over. On til next year…

Still reigning Champ!
